Mapesbury School - Opening Spring 2025 in Cricklewood, Brent.
Mapesbury School is a new Special Educational Needs school opening in Spring 2025 in Cricklewood, Brent. Our small school will support children aged between 7 to 16 years with Autism and associated conditions who have not been able to access education in a mainstream or specialist setting and would benefit from an integrated therapeutic approach to education. Pupils will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) but may not yet have a diagnosis, though they display traits of Autism and associated conditions.
Our Curriculum
Mapesbury School is a safe and positive place which promotes kindness, respect and success by example. With small classes of around six pupils, our school has places for up to 50 young people with lessons creatively planned and appropriately tailored to meet pupils’ individual needs whilst following the National Curriculum.
We are ambitious for our pupils and support every child in taking qualifications during Key stage 4. These may include Unit Awards, Entry Levels, Functional Skills or GCSEs. There is also a strong focus on developing independence and employability skills. Outdoor learning and community engagement opportunities are integral to our school, utilising our own outdoor spaces and within our local community.
Integrated Therapeutic Support
Pupils will benefit from an integrated therapeutic approach at our school. Our on-site Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) and Occupational Therapist (OT), supported by a visiting Clinical Psychologist embed a range of whole school approaches to maintain a positive and inclusive environment. The team also designs and delivers personalised therapy interventions to individuals and groups to meet needs on children’s EHCPs.
