Today we had the honour of joining Mill School Bury in a morning of celebration.
The school took part in a couple of poetry and literacy competitions, through the organisations Young Writers and Empowered. The school fully understands the importance of developing a young person’s literacy skills and they put in additional support and guidance to allow their children to thrive in this area.
The hard work is clearly paying off…
We can proudly announce that 12 children from the school have written such fantastic poems for the competitions that their work is going to be published in a celebratory book, as a complication of the winning poetry!
This morning the Local MP James Daly joined the awards ceremony at the school where the children were awarded certificates and prizes, as their parents and teachers tearfully watched on in pride.
Congratulations to everyone, not only the children but also to Alison Mellor (Reading and Phonics Lead) and the whole team at Mill School Bury. What a brilliant example of where hard work and dedication can take you…
We look forward to sharing more photography with you soon.
