The school works successfully with children and young people who may have been reluctant learners, those who may have been out of school for a time or those have found it hard to engage in education.
Staff support children and young people to gain a range of meaningful qualifications, have a positive schooling experience and gain the self-confidence to continue on to the next steps of their education, either in college, training or employment. If there is a subject or an interest shown by a particular young person pupil the school has the flexibility to provide an individualised learning programme.
Children and young people in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 have access to an extensive careers programme, including discrete lessons, external careers guidance, vocational studies at local college providers, work experience placements and travel training.
There is also the option to attend a range of colleges for example North Warwickshire and Hinckley College in Years 10 and 11 in line with their interests and aspirations. This not only provides the opportunity to gain additional qualifications, but also supports their carefully planned transitions into post 16 provisions when they leave school.
