All children and young people at Wings School Cumbria have opportunity to complete a range of qualifications in the following subjects:
English, Mathematics, Science, Art, Photography, Geography, History, Music, Performing Arts, John Muir Award, Design Technology, Physical Education, Computing, Environment Science, Construction, Catering, Equine Studies, Sports Coaching, PSD/Citizenship,
Qualifications Include: GCSEs, Functional Skills, BTECs, Entry Level, Open Awards and a range of vocational qualifications including City & Guilds.
In 2019, 100% of children and young people at the school gained a Maths, English & Science qualification. All pupils gained GCSEs in Art and Photography and a BTEC in Sport and Active Leisure, with 1 gaining a vocational qualification in Catering.
100% of pupils have had accepted offers to Post 16 Colleges. Destinations include Kendal College, Hugh Baird College, Manchester College and others. Pupils went on to study Catering, Health & Social Care, Leisure & Tourism as well as other courses.
100% of the children and young people at the school access community activities which reflect their interests.
100% of the children and young people at Wings Cumbria are learning independent skills.
All the young people are involved in the recruitment and interviewing process for new staff.
KS4 children and young people are provided with careers and college guidance, social and economic skills and work experience to prepare them for adult life. We work in partnership with transition teams and local authorities to provide a planned transition to life and work after school for all young people.
