High Peak School is a residential school providing 52 week provision for young people aged 7 to 18 years with social, emotional and behavioral difficulties and we are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join us as a Domestic Assistant.

The Domestic Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Housekeeping Supervisor with daily cleaning and housekeeping duties between the hours of 27 hours per week (7am - 1pm Mon & Fri   –   7am - 12 Tues, Wed, Thurs)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning to a high standard the area or areas delegated by the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Storing safely all cleaning materials at the end of the duty period in the appropriate storage facility.
  • Participating in thorough ‘Spring Cleaning’ of allocated areas during School holidays.
  • Adhering to good health and hygiene practices.
  • On occasion, when required by the Housekeeping Supervisor to cover for absent colleagues, by assisting the Cook with the preparation and cooking of food.
  • Participating in arrangements for your Induction, supervision, training and development.
  • Undertaking qualifications deemed necessary by the Housekeeping Manager/ Principal/ Registered Manager to fulfil the requirements of the post.

Person Specification:

  • Experience previously in a housekeeping role
  • Hard working attitude
  • Organised approach
