About the role:
Salary: £31,650 - £43,607 per annum (M1 - M6) plus £2,679 SEN allowance (Unqualified teachers, with relevant experience may be considered.)
Closing Date: 11 April 2025 – Interviews will be completed during the week commencing 28 April 2025
The recruitment process will consist of a lesson observation, a formal interview and a pupil panel meeting.
Job Type: Full Time Permanent or Temp/Perm will be considered.
Setting: Arc School Old Arley
As the school’s Outdoor Education & Construction Teacher, you will deliver our vocational construction program to Years 9, 10 & 11 and you will take the lead on the Duke of Edinburgh Award as the Award Manager. The role will also oversee the development of other outdoor learning initiatives including Forest School. As a teacher/instructor you may also have a tutor group and deliver a small number of lessons such as PSHE/Prep for Adulthood/Life Skills etc. You will plan, assess, and deliver all lessons with an emphasis on practical learning and personal development.
About you:
You will be a qualified (QTS/QTLS) teacher or have comparable experience in the subject field, ideally, with experience of working in a special education setting with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs and other complex needs. You will have experience of teaching Outdoor Education Schemes, Duke of Edinburgh Award or be willing to undertake the training needed to do so.
You will be adept at tailoring your teaching and lessons to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils.
You will be able to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils as well as promote good progress and outcomes by pupils.
You will provide levels of care and support appropriate to the general needs of the children and those outlined in their EHCP’s and individualised plans.
