Arc School Ansley and Arc School Old Arley are independent special schools dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for children and young people with special educational needs, including autism spectrum condition (ASC) and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.  

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Site Officer to join our team and work flexibly across both schools to ensure the smooth running, safety, and upkeep of our school premises, facilities and grounds. The postholder will also provide cover and support to two other Arc schools (Birmingham and Southam) as needed. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the general maintenance of the school buildings and facilities, ensuring they are safe, secure, and well maintained. 

  • Carry out minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and liaise with contractors for larger works as required. 

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and Independent School Standards, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments. 

  • Maintain school grounds, including gardens, pathways, and outdoor areas, ensuring they are clean and safe for use. 

  • Monitor and manage security, including opening and locking up the site, checking alarms, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. 

  • Assist with site-related projects, such as refurbishments and improvement works. 

  • Support the school’s operational needs, such as setting up rooms, managing deliveries, and coordinating waste disposal. 

Person Specification: 

  • Experience in site management, facilities maintenance, or a similar role. 

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment. 

  • Practical skills in basic maintenance, repairs, and groundskeeping. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. 

  • A positive attitude and willingness to work flexibly at any of the four Arc schools across as required. 

  • A commitment to supporting the school community and to safeguarding children. 

  • Relevant qualifications or training in health and safety, facilities management, or maintenance (desirable).
