Message from the Headteacher

It is an absolute pleasure to welcome you to Arc School Napton’s website.

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Napton, our school truly is a little piece of heaven on a hill. Surrounded by rolling countryside and fresh air, Arc Napton offers a calm, nurturing environment where every child is celebrated for who they are.

We work passionately here at Napton to create a safe and inspiring space for pupils who may not currently thrive fully in mainstream settings. Through a carefully adapted curriculum, a range of enrichment opportunities and a strong focus on emotional well-being, we empower our children to learn, grow, and shine in their own unique ways.

Our school IDEALS (values) are woven into everything we do. They guide us in building a community where every voice is heard, every achievement is celebrated, and every individual feels valued.

We embrace the outdoors, sensory learning and the joy of discovery. Arc is more than a school – it's a family, a place of calm, connection and acceptance, where children and staff alike can be themselves and belong.

Thank you for visiting. We hope you feel the warmth of our school through these pages.

What We Offer

Education

Education

At Arc School Napton, we meet each child at their individual stage of learning, not just by age. Using a three-stage model, pupils progress at their own pace, accessing the National Curriculum and or EYFS framework in a way that suits their needs, and to set them up for life by developing key life skills. Our approach blends structure with flexibility, ensuring all children, from Reception to Year 6, feel safe, challenged and supported.

We offer a two-year cyclical curriculum enriched with Forest School, emotional literacy, and life skills. Pupils enjoy regular sessions in music, cookery, PE, and themed projects, alongside educational trips, experiences and celebrations. Through personalised provision, high-quality teaching, and a nurturing environment, we help every child grow academically, socially and emotionally, inspiring confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Therapy

Therapy

At our school, we understand that every child is unique—and so are their needs. Our dedicated therapy team plays a vital role in helping children grow, learn, and feel confident in themselves.

We work closely with pupils, families, and staff to provide tailored support that helps children overcome barriers to learning and fully engage in school life. Our team includes professionals such as:

  • Speech and Language Therapists – helping children develop communication skills, from understanding language to expressing themselves clearly.
  • Occupational Therapists – supporting children with everyday skills like handwriting, coordination, and sensory regulation.
  • Assistant Educational Psychologist  – offering support with emotional regulation, anxiety, self-esteem, and social interaction.
  • Interventions practitioners – planning and delivering personalised interventions such as handwriting groups and transitional work.

Therapy sessions may take place one-to-one, in small groups, or within the classroom, depending on each child’s needs. We also work with teaching staff to embed therapeutic strategies into daily routines, ensuring consistent support throughout the school day.

Our goal is to help every child feel safe, understood, and empowered—so they can enjoy learning, build friendships, and reach their full potential.

Life Skills and Vocational Preparation

Life Skills and Vocational Preparation

At Arc School Napton, we believe life skills are just as important as academic learning. Our life skills passport includes ‘30 Things to Achieve before I Leave’, carefully chosen by staff who know the children best. These experiences help our children to build independence, confidence and practical abilities.

From learning first aid and understanding nutrition to mastering basic daily tasks like lunchtime routines, our curriculum is designed to prepare children for life beyond school. Pupils also explore career pathways in a primary-friendly way, sparking aspirations and curiosity about the world of work.

Through the curriculum, assemblies and Friday Flourish, enrichment activities, and community engagement, our children gain hands-on experiences that promote resilience, responsibility and self-belief. Life skills at Arc Napton are about growing capable, thoughtful individuals who are ready to thrive in the wider world.
