This week in Performing Arts, the KS2 classes have been exploring characterisation and how masks are used to represent characters in theatrical performances. This beautiful mask was made by a child in Year 4, which was based on her interests in carnival performers.
One of the young people in the Post 16 class has started her work experience at the school as a Teaching Assistant. This young person has shared her personal journey through High Peak School and talked to the other children about how she has also succeeded in enrolling onto a college course. At High Peak School, they encourage their students to share their individual successes to influence other younger children.
Some of the young people began their first practical lessons at Reaseheath College where they learnt how to change car wheels in their Motor Vehicle Course. All of the young people engaged well and enjoyed working in a practical environment.
