Charlie, a young person from our Mill School Bury has been awarded an Honorary Immersive Reality Technologist as a result of his hard work and dedication to supporting with the training and development of Immersive Reality (IR) in the school!
He has been helping with training all the staff to understand more about IR, how it works and how it can be utilised. Charlie offered feedback on how user friendly the system is and advised how it could be adapted further to make it more appropriate for the children and their changing needs.
He then supported with tours and demonstrated to professionals and parents how IR is used successfully in learning, while answering any questions they may have had.
The IR room combines, sounds, lights, videos, moving air and different aromas to create a huge variety of simulated atmospheres. The IR room emulates the physical world through the means of a digital simulated world by creating a sensory feeling, therefore creating a sensory immersion. IR will ignite the imagination and encourage creativity through interactive technology.
Benefits of the Immersive Reality curriculum includes:
• Spiritual Development (Creativity Value)
• Intellectual (creating a space in keeping with the theme, immersing the group into a different place or time)
