Our Silverways School is an independent special school which supports children and young people with autism and associated learning needs. The school is set in the heart of the community in Enfield, North London.
The focus at Silverways School is on maximising every child’s potential to develop into a confident, resilient, and skilled young person who will make a positive contribution to society and live as independent a life as possible.
The location is perfect for offering a wealth of opportunities for the children and young people to get out and about into the local community and have some new and exciting experiences!
This term the children will be heading out to visit places such as the Museum of London, the Houses of Parliament, Shakespeare’s Globe, KidZania London and even some local restaurants to try a variety of cuisines from around the world.
These school trips are crucial for developing travel and independence skills, developing communication skills, boosting self-confidence and self-esteem, acting as a bonding experience, and giving the children a broader perspective of the world all while having a lot of fun in the process.
Ria Richards, Deputy Headteacher says “Every child is born a genius; it is our job to unlock it.”
