Wood Grove is a safe and caring children’s home where they provide opportunities for children and young people to achieve to their best ability. The home offers care, guidance and support which promotes the importance of decision making and taking ownership of those decisions. The therapeutic approach and systemic based work ensures children and young people are supported to address their feelings and emotions in a safe and supportive way.
The home support children and young people with social emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and learning difficulties (LD).
The team pride themselves on delivering a high quality level of service for the children who live there and their support network. Let’s hear some recent positive feedback from a Social Worker of one young person....
“I am really happy at this time with the placement, the staff listen to him and they have good communication with me and the home also communicates well with his mother.
I had a visit to the home last week and was really impressed with how I was welcomed and made aware of current Covid-19 safety procedures.
He is learning new skills including independence skills such as preparing his own meals, which is exactly what he needs. I feel that this is real progress for him.
Before being placed at Wood Grove I had arranged all types of different therapies for him to try, but he would not engage in any of them. I am really pleased that since he has been at the home he is engaging with everything, he has appeared more confident and now has good conversations with me, which is really pleasing.”
Fantastic work to all of the team at Wood Grove.
