Holi is a Hindu festival that celebrates spring, love, and new life.
Some families hold religious ceremonies, but for many Holi is more a time for fun. It's a colourful festival, with dancing, singing and throwing of powder paint and coloured water. Holi is also known as the "festival of colours".
This year, Holi takes place on the evening of March 7th and the day of March 8th. It typically takes place in March (and occasionally in February), but the day changes every year because it depends on when the last full moon in the Hindu calendar falls.
Colourful cakes are being enjoyed at our Arc School Napton today and the children are learning all about the festival.
Enjoy the colourful day!
