The children and young people watched a video from a book adaptation called ‘The Promise’. It looked at how important planting is for not only the environment, but also the personal benefits we can all gain as well from looking after the environment around us – including learning new skills and improvements to mental health and well-being.
Different classes took part in planting an acorn or a conker, story writing and reading activities and also lots of creative art activities too!
Some children even helped outside to get the planting area ready for winter; using tools safely, planting new plants and learning new skills.
At the end of the session, they all made ‘A Promise’ to try and do something to help the environment.
Well done everyone!
