Since the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic we have seen our staff team, time and time again, go above and beyond to support our children and young people during what is undoubtedly the most challenging and unprecedented of times.
The hard work and planning is just as important now as we have started the new school year to keep our staff, children and their families safe.
Mill School Bury are following Kedleston Group’s COVID 19 policy and have introduced a range of measures including a start of term COIVD 19 briefing session which ensures all members of the staff team are fully aware of the procedures and policies in place.
The safety measures within the school include:
- Bubbles of children and staff in separate areas of the school. Each bubble has access to their own facilities and refreshments.
- New designated entry and exit points
- Children now order their snacks and lunch in the morning and eat in specific allocated areas – the outdoor quiet place, forest school or the sensory garden.
- Some of the children are wearing masks, if they feel comfortable to do so. Staff and children who have exemptions are not.
- Everyone washes their hands and uses hand sanitiser throughout the day
- The children are filming how to wash their hands properly and this video can then be used to show visitors to the school on the front reception to ensure hand washing is done correctly.
- All visitors are temperature checked, wear face coverings, sanitise their hands, are asked to confirm they are free of COIVD 19 symptoms and have their contact history recorded
This is a really uncertain time and we are all working together to ensure the best possible outcomes for everyone within the school community.
