Wood Grove have been talking about Mental Health Awareness Week and it appears after a range of observations, that a nice hot drink and a little treat with it, appears to be one of the best first steps towards supporting a young person’s and/or staff's mental well-being. When the world goes 'crazy', that's when we need learn to slow down, pause and take time to start again.
This could be in a garden, park or even being indoors and appreciating the outdoor views through the window....
The young people made peanut butter Cookies mainly out of 3 ingredients that are a fantastic treat for the body, mind, finances and even stomachs as they are very filling and very easy to make. We would like to share the recipe:
· A jar of peanut butter (240-380g)
· 1egg;
· 1/2 of sugar;
· Chocolate chips/sweets like M&M's or raisins (optional).
Mix all ingredients. Then take some mixture and roll into the ball, like 2-3 marble or squash ball size. Place balls onto the tray with baking paper on. Squash balls gently with a fork into ''x' shape over the top, it will look like train tracks. And cook in the oven for 10-15min in 200°C. It should be nice light brown colour. Let them cool down prior trying it out.
