Our High Peak School is set on the border of Cheshire East and the Peak District and provides specialist primary and secondary education for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, individuals on the autism spectrum and young people with ADHD, dyspraxia and dyslexia.
We thought we would check in with the fantastic staff team to find out more about what makes the school so special and unique.........let’s hear from John Cooper, P.E. Teacher
“I have worked at High Peak School for just over five years now. I have seen children who have struggled in previous schools turn their attention to positive outcomes both in the care setting and day school. I have worked with groups of children in P.E. and Outdoor Learning and seen the group dynamics change over time to become supportive and motivated.
High Peak School gives children the space to mature and progress whilst also pushing them outside their comfort zones, knowing that staff will support and care for them throughout.
The team at High Peak is supportive, above and beyond any setting I have worked in during my 21yrs of teaching.
I am proud to be at High Peak School and thankful that I get to see acts of kindness, generosity and support on a daily basis.”
