Last week was National Gardening Week! The children and staff at our Arc Oakbridge School started to get the garden plot ready again for lots of beautiful plants and flowers to begin growing!
National Gardening Week 2021 is held between April 26th and May 2nd and is run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to raise awareness of gardening and horticulture, and to encourage more people to take part in the healthy and productive outdoor activity of gardening.
The children at the school have been helping to spruce up the garden and sign, along with talking about the different plants they are growing at home too.
One of the children has had particular success with their gardening; being awarded the Local Star Lockdown Hero Award for their area last year - growing lots of produce and donating it to their local Food Bank. What a fantastic idea, congratulations!
