We caught up with our Arc Oakbridge School in Birmingham to find out what they have been up to this summer term…
Firstly, their first ever football team took part in not one, but two tournaments this half term. None of the young people had ever done anything like this before and, whilst they didn’t winner any games in the first tournament, they did manage to come in third place overall as they kept all of their respect points!
The second tournament was held at the Nottingham Forrest training ground where 12 teams took part. This time around they scored 8 goals in total and even won one game 4-0! Again, due to keeping all their respect points the boys came fourth, missing out on a playoff spot on goal difference.
We are immensely proud of these young men and their achievement, especially keeping all the respect points!
They also held their school summer fair; it was a great success and Headteacher Phil managed not to give anyone food poisoning 😉.
With the help of the staff and pupils, and the support and donations from their amazing families, the school managed to raise a fantastic £202.60 which they will donate to Autism West Midlands.
Have a fantastic Summer Oakbridge.
