The children had a science lesson this week, learning all about teeth. They learnt about the different types of teeth as part of their 'Animals Including Humans’ Topic this term. They created their own set of teeth to show where the different teeth are positioned.
Brookways School pride themselves on the support they give for reintegration back into school and provide young people with opportunities to develop friendships. The school provides a safe learning environment for children living with autism (ASC), mainly Asperger’s Syndrome and higher functioning autism, who also face other challenges such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia and pathological demand avoidance (PDA).
The curriculum is broadly in line with the national curriculum but focuses on the specific needs and knowledge our students need to acquire in order to live independent and fulfilled lives. The focus of every day is to learn and grow.
