Science in action at Ansley!
We caught up with Lead Science Teacher, Sam Bendle from our Arc School Ansley to tell us (and show us!) all of the action that happened in last term’s KS3 and KS4 lessons.
Triple science option students were investigating reversible reactions with copper sulphate crystals.
KS3 students were learning how to separate mixtures into pure substances using simple distillation.
KS3 students were performing food tests using various chemical reagents.
KS4 GCSE class were investigating how to calculate the density of irregular objects using a displacement can.
KS3 were discovering the properties of metals and non-metals. Here they are testing whether different materials can conduct electricity.
KS4 were investigating the specific latent heat value at which ice melts using a test circuit.
KS4 were using computer simulations to discover the link between volume, heat and gas pressure.
That’s some super science work everyone! Well done.
