Kedleston Group is proud to announce it will be opening its 14th independent specialist provision in Enfield, London in 2021. The bespoke purpose-built school is being developed following the success of Kedleston Group’s established London based provisions, Leaways School and Brookways School. Both schools are highly experienced in supporting children and young people towards personalised outcomes, providing the additional support needed to enable them to meet their full potential and ultimately prepare them for adulthood. We are delighted that our strong relationships with Local Authorities and families across London have enabled us to expand our ability to educate more children who need specialist support and ensure children receive education as close to home as possible.
Silverways School, Enfield will support children and young people with autism and associated learning needs, enabling them to re-engage positively with education. The school will be registered from 7-16 years old for up to 50 students.
The school will provide local children with a specially designed learning environment created to meet their sensory needs. It will offer a low arousal and nurturing safe place where they can learn and grow. Class sizes will be small, no more than six children in a class with one teacher and teaching assistant. Classrooms will be ‘enabling environments’ with sensory lighting, muted colours, individual workstations and visual timetables.
The curriculum is being designed to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of each child. The school will follow the National Curriculum as well as providing young people with access to a range of qualifications including ASDAN and functional skills. The school will offer children opportunities to learn outside the classroom, through forest schools and accessing their local community. The school will equip children for adulthood and prepare them for the world of work and college, through access to career services, employment opportunities and college courses. The school will be supported by a clinical team, including SALT and OT embedded within the school day.
Through close partnerships with families, professionals and the wider community, Silverways School will ensure that all children who attend the school meet their full potential and flourish.
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and inspirational leader to join our team, as we work towards ensuring our Silverways School in Enfield is ready for opening and welcoming in children and young people.
The role will initially see you collaborate with the senior management and wider development team on the internal design of the school, assist with the planning process and contribute to the commissioning programme, with lead responsibility for the registration of the school working with all internal and external stakeholders as required.
