We support children and young people to go to school and college, and where they have been out of education, to re-engage with learning in the local area.
Education is sourced via local schools, colleges, training centres, alternative provisions, or via the four nearby Kedleston Group Arc schools, which cater for children of the same age and presenting needs, specialising in young people with SEMH, ASC, Trauma, ADHD.
Ivytree House have developed positive links with a number of the schools in the area both primary/middle and secondary as well as further education and training providers in the local area and, as such, are able to support the facilitation of the children and young people’s educational needs fully including accessing work experience placements for young people in placement.
Manningtree itself whilst being a quiet and peaceful area does have some local shops within walking distance of the home and a post office as well as some cafés and restaurants. There are local schools in the area, community groups and parks.
The home is within easy reach of the busy town Colchester by car or bus but is equally close to large expanses of open green space providing options for a variety of outdoor pursuits including cycling, walking and horse riding.
There is even a community group for the young people to join in which is: Mistley Kids Club is an after-school and holiday club for children between the ages of 4 and 16 (18 if your child has any additional needs). They are Ofsted regulated and all staff are DBS checked.
The area very much caters for children with differing interests and abilities to allow them to socialise and build friendships, be part of the community, learn new skills and gain confidence.
