Staff and students all dressed up today and took part in a range of activities to celebrate World Book Day. 

There has been a significant focus on the development of reading across the school since September, including half an hour of DEAR time (Drop Everything And Read) every day on the timetable, supported through the introduction of the Accelerated Reader programme.   

We are delighted with the improvements to students’ reading skills and attitudes to learning since we launched this initiative so we welcomed such an enjoyable day to celebrate! Staff and our young people thoroughly enjoyed the day and there were certainly some impressive costumes on display!
