Two students from Fernways School recently had a fantastic opportunity to take part in a special tennis session at the renowned National Tennis Centre in London, thanks to the support of Bright Ideas (charity).
Held on Saturday, 22nd February 2025, the session gave them the chance to play alongside both current and former professional players, making for an unforgettable experience. A standout moment was getting to take photos with the athletes, capturing memories they will cherish for years to come.
During the event, one student had the thrill of meeting Gregory Rusedski, the Canadian-British former professional tennis player, while both had the chance to chat with Mika Stojsavljevic, the British player who won the girls' singles title at the 2024 US Open. Reflecting on the experience, a parent shared, "It really was the most amazing opportunity, and one of the students played tennis solidly for two hours. He absolutely loved it!"
This inspiring event not only created lasting memories but also fueled the students’ passion for tennis, encouraging them to continue developing their skills on the court.
