The small number of Year 11 leavers at High Peak achieved fantastically over the academic year of 2023/2024, gaining a wonderful average of 17 qualifications each.
In all cases, the young people leaving in Year 11 have made remarkable progress from their individual starting points. One young person has successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and part of the Gold award which is a huge achievement.
Other highlights included 100% of pupils achieving a qualification in English, Maths and Science.
Other qualifications gained by students include Home Cooking Skills (BTEC level 2 and Food and Hygiene). They also achieved 16 nationally recognised qualifications awarded through an Outdoor Education pathway including the Mountain Bike Instructors Award scheme, the National Indoor Climbing Awards, National Navigation Awards, Forest Explorers and British Canoeing Paddle Start.
This combination of qualifications has enabled young people to move on from High Peak to destinations including further education and training placements.
