Alan Thompson

Headteacher

Alan has a wealth of experience in SEMH. Alan has been a head teacher in two previous SEMH schools. Alan joined Leaways in April 2022. Alan is dedicated to providing the best education experience for all pupils at Leaways.

Sam Lo-Pon

Deputy Headteacher

Samuel is the school lead for ASC provision and manages the schools Quiet learning Zone. Sam is an experienced classroom practitioner working with pupils with SEMH and ASC. Sam is committed to ensuring that pupils receive the best preparation for the next stage of their education or work life. Sam has positive working relationships with SEN teams within the placing authorities.

Zoe Donnellan

Assistant Headteacher

Zoe has been a teacher for seven years, initially training as a primary teacher after qualifying from her psychology degree. Zoe then progressed her career working in specialist provisions across London, qualifying as a SENCO in 2021 after completing the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination. Zoe is passionate about creating a fun and engaging curriculum, helping all pupils to thrive here at Leaways.

Rodney Owusu

Assistant Headteacher

Rodney, born and raised in East London, is a seasoned educator with over 12 years of experience in SEMH schools. He holds a degree in Sports Science and has excelled in various roles, including teaching Physical Education, managing student behaviour, and engaging in outreach work. Rodney has also taken the lead on educational trips and offsite provision, showcasing his dedication to providing diverse learning experiences. A hardworking member of staff, Rodney consistently goes above and beyond to help students achieve and progress, striving to better their lives. His commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and his ability to connect with students have made him a valuable asset in the educational community.

Suja Vairavanathan

SENCO

With over 14 years of experience in special educational needs, Suja is a passionate and dedicated professional committed to helping every student reach their full potential. She has previously served as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Assistant Principal, bringing a wealth of expertise to Leaways. As our SENCO and Designated Teacher, Suja is focused on implementing trauma-informed practices to support both the academic and personal growth of our students, ensuring they feel confident and empowered on their educational journey.

Paula Daley

Office Manager

Paula is a highly skilled office manager with years of experience in business management and finance. She has worked in schools very similar to Leaways providing support for parents, carers and students.
