Team Mill School Bury recently embarked on a hedgehog rescue mission. During a school session, they discovered a small hedgehog entangled in the netting on the playground. Fortunately, Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Nicholson were there with a trusty pair of scissors to carefully and safely free the hedgehog.
After being freed, their new little companion still had some netting clinging to him. So, with the help of Tilly (Year 10) and Keira (Year 8), they took him to a local vet for a thorough examination. The vet successfully removed the remaining netting and advised them to keep the hedgehog warm for a while before releasing him near where they found him.
They returned to school and provided him with a cosy blanket in the classroom until it was time to release him. Finally, near the school woods, they set him free, observing with care as their newfound friend scurried back to his home.
