Horsing Around!
This term we are looking to develop resilience, confidence and self-esteem amongst a group of our pupils and so have introduced Horse Riding to their timetable. For some of our pupils, their biggest barrier to learning lies within their own self believe as a result of many negative experiences. At Mill School we are taking away the pressures of the classroom and allowing our pupils to thrive through their love of animals.
After only two horse riding lessons we are seeing our pupils begin to take on more challenges within their learning, develop confidence to engage with peers across school and for them to talk more positively about their experiences in school with their families.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
Back in July we had to cancel our trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach due to the heatwave....this week, in the pouring rain our pupils and their families finally made it to a very wet and windy Blackpool! Many of the pupils had their parents come along for the trip too and decided that the first ride they should be taken on was the log flume!
It is great to take opportunities to see our whole school community come together on days like today...I wonder where the next trip will be!
