The six Year 11 leavers who sat exams at Mill School Bury this year have achieved a ‘bumper crop’ of fantastic results of which they should be very proud. They have moved on from the school onto their next step with a range of qualifications including GCSEs and BTECs as well as prestigious accreditations.
And one young person achieved top marks – a Grade 9 – in English Language.
Other highlights across the year for Year 11 leavers included:
- Young people achieving an average of more than eight qualifications each
- 49 qualifications were achieved in total across the school
- 23 GCSEs awarded across the small group of pupils – including the aforementioned Grade 9
- Those GCSEs were achieved in a range of subjects including English Language, English Literature, Maths, Combined Science, History, Art and Design and Computer Science
- 100% of students gained a qualification in Maths
- 83% of students (five from the six young people) achieved qualifications in Maths, English and Science.
As well as GCSEs, students undertook a range of qualifications in subjects and accreditations including BTEC Home Cooking Skills (level 2), PE and Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.
The Year 11 leavers will now move on to their educational or training placements in September 2024. A range of positive destinations and courses are planned, including studying for A-levels and undertaking electrical engineering, digital media and childcare courses.
